New dancing contest program
A new dancing competition series Taking the Next Step premiered on the British network CBBC on June 13th, 2016 for its very first season and has since been renewed for a second series, which kicked off on October 9th, 2017 with brand new episodes. The show is produced by the in-house CBBC Productions team based on the hit reality-style teen drama The Next Step. Young performers audition in front of a three-judge panel –ex-Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, West End and TV performer John Partridge and Simeon Qsyea - a choreographer and professional dancer. Lindsay Russell (Blue Peter) is the presenter.
The Next Step is a hit with the audience and the prize received by the future champion of Taking the Next Step is appropriate – a guest role on the fourth season of the original series. Over 1300 applicants uploaded their videos for the first stage of the selection process – the regional auditions – and after several rounds only 6 candidates will travel to Canada in order to continue. The six lucky ones will meet the cast of The Next Step and participate in challenges right on the set of their favorite show.
