New series info and storyline

A new British drama series, New Blood is created and written by Anthony Horowitz, executive produced by Jill Green and hails from Eleventh Hour Films. The first three episodes of the show premiered on BBC iPlayer on June 2, 2016, and the actual broadcast premiere took place on BBC One on June 9, 2016.

The storyline follows two officers – undercover junior Serious Fraud Office investigator Stefan Kowolski (Mark Strepan) and ambitious trainee detective Rash Sayyad (Ben Tavassoli) – as they work on investigating their separate cases. Soon enough it turns out that the two cases are intertwined, and are actually two angles on one case targeting a pharmaceutical company. The two men get inadvertently drawn into a dangerous conspiracy and have to cooperate in order to uncover the truth. They don't get off to a particularly smooth start, but being on the same side they do get a bromance-friendship going.

Here in the states just finished watching New Blood on Britbox and was pleased to watch this show. Series tend to leap in year 2 most of the time and thought this one could have. Didn't realize it is already 8-years old and never got a second season. Viewership was supposedly good or better according to some review websites. This definitely one that should be brought back if possible. Hollywood everywhere is struggling with finding good storylines, casts, and audiences. If their going to retread something it should be like this one. Blue Lights is another that should be given a second season. The BBC is running at about 40% at getting it right. They definitely got this decision wrong.

I too just discovered New Blood and binged on it and was so looking forward to season 2. I am now faced with New Blood withdrawals - such a pity. The above post is spot on! Yes the execs who canceled this show should be canceled!

I already commented on my own opinion box but will respond in kind to yours. I liked the show, thought it was good like New Tricks first few seasons before it got stale. Watching this show was fun like watching Death in Paradise (mostly), Slow Horses (always), and Miss Scarlett, or new shows like Artful Dodger. You tend to know early if something is good or trash. This could easily gone 4 or 5 seasons before messing it up. There many examples of junk tv series that get extended life and this was not junk.

Like so many others I was entertained by BBC New Blood and looking forward to more episodes and seasons only to find that the show has been cancelled. Are we fated to see the same repertory theatre of actors being recycled through EVERY BBC series that is offered instead of some refreshing and engaging new actors like the two leads in New Blood. Obviously the BBC needs some “new blood” too!! Annoying! Bring the boys back!

New Blood was a great series with engaging characters and interesting plots why BBC would axe a second season and keep other mindless, over sexed, wishy washy characters without any real plots is beyond my comprehension!

I just binged New Blood on britbox and I was so disappointed to see it wasn’t renewed for a second season. Why??? This series had everything…suspense, humor, great writing, interesting story lines and I love the whole cast. I wanted to see what Malik was going to do to make them pay. So sad that it was a one season show. 😢😢

I just finished binging on this series too and was here to see if I could find a Season 2. Like what others are saying it was so good! One of the best! I don't know why BBC does this so often, produces a fantastic series for a single season and then cancels. Such a shame. It was also refreshing to see new faces. Not that I don't enjoy the talent used in most British TV but generally they are the same faces again and rarely do I see new faces. Too bad. These actors are terrific.

I watched the whole series and it was a very entertaining well done series. I was hoping to continue with season two, but just found out there never was one unfortunately.

So sad they didn’t renew this. One of the best I have seen in a while. The characters are fantastic and Addy is EXCEPTIONAL. PLEASE bring it back!

Just found "New Blood" on BritBox and have enjoyed the first five episodes immensely. Shame really it wasn't renewed. All around good stuff and entertaining. A lot more potential than some that have been renewed.

Just binged New Blood. Awesome program- funny, well-acted, good scripts. Anthony Horowitz!!! This program should be brought back. I liked the fact that profanity was minimized. Vera and Death In Paradise are about the only crime dramas that can get away with it. Sad.

Just discovered New Blood and found myself binging the whole series! Mortified that they didn’t renew it for a second season! Why do networks alway renew the rubbish and not renew the awesome shows like this one??
Still fresh and televant! PLEASE RECONSIDER AND BRING THE BOYS BACK!!!!!!

So sad this show was cancelled. Love Anthony Horowitz! New obsession with me -British TV! So much better than US TV, I now only watch BritBox (and Acorn). Just waiting for my accent to kick in. Best $7 bucks a month!

Best show ever why would you axe a great series with young men moves fast good looking well written witty fresh my young granddaughter and sat and watched this thoroughly enjoyed was looking forward to many more bad decision
