The BET Life Of… is a BET original music documentary series airing since September 2015. It is currently in its second season, which is comprised of five 60-minute episodes and has premiered on May 17, 2016. The show offers an exclusive journey through the careers of contemporary musical superstars. The first season features an exploration of the following musicians' career development: Beyonce, Chris Brown, Janet Jackson, Nicky Minaj and Trey Songz.
The evolution of these musicians is portrayed through a wide array of first-hand accounts, interviews, performance videos, commentary from the key players in the entertainment industry – executives, insiders, TV personalities, movie stars, BET hosts. The second season features Diddy, Mary J Bilge, Usher, B2K and Ciara, and the paths that their careers took to bring them up to the top.
Viewership ratings and possibilities of renewal
The BET Life Of… season 2 premiered to 226,000 viewers and a 0.1 rating in the 18-49 adult demographic. The second episode actually saw an increase in viewership to a 0.2 rating and 344,000 viewers. It's a very interesting series for the music fans, comprehensively informative and inspiring. There may very well be a continuation, as there are still many more stories to be explored and told to the dedicated fan audience.
