About the series

An erotic Showtime drama series Submission has premiered on May 12, 2016. It is created by Jacky St. James, who's an established adult movie director, and Paul Fishbein, produced by Plausible Films and executive produced by Fishbein, St. James and Darren Roberts. The first season contains six 30-minute episodes.

This is a story of Ashley (Ashlynn Yennie), a beautiful woman unsatisfied with her life, who's just come out of a bad relationship. She stumbles across a popular BDSM-themed novel and sets out on a journey of sexual exploration and awakening. Ashley finds herself in the middle of a love triangle that's tantalizing yet dangerous. The issues that are explored here have been touched lightly upon in the Fifty Shades of Gray movie, but Submission is a much more daring and honest interpretation that strives to dispel the numerous myths around various sexual practices.

I am a submissive to my husband. Have been for 5 years. This show is just fantasy, I did enjoy it however.. It is leaving you with a dishonest impression of a real life dom/sub relationship. I would definitely watch another season to see how it plays out (mainly because the lack of bdsm tv shows) that depict some of what our lives endure. Submission is amazing, it changed me forever, in the best way possible. I hope our world becomes even more open to society, it isn't dirty or wrong. I am not a slave to my dominant, because I don't sleep or eat in cages and walk on leashes. That is just not me. But I simply gave up control over many things for pleasure, and the simplest things you would think are nothing are actually amazingly life-changing. More people should be open to experiencing our lifestyle :P

I have watched the series and being a Dominant, I was pretty angry over the last episode. A responsible Dom does not lend out His/Her Sub to an angry vindictive Dom. It's reckless. Also as far as the more honest view of that lifestyle... No it was't!!! There is an extreme difference between a Submissive AND a Slave. Slaves give up ALL of their control. There are NO SAFE WORDS!!!! They Are quite literally treated like animals. They sleep in cages, eat in cages and they are always on their knees unless their Master instructs otherwise. So the show is way off base on the Submissive/Slave distinction!!!!!!
