Series' background and storyline
An Australian musical comedy series Sammy J & Randy in Ricketts Lane is broadcast on ABC AU. The show's produced by Sticky Pictures with Donna Andrews, Stu Connoly, Brett Sleigh and Rick Kalowski serving as executive producers. The first season of the show contains six episodes and premiered on October 14, 2015. All of the episodes are hilariously titled after Kevin Costner movies.
Sammy J (Sam McMillan) is a lawyer who has yet to score a win on a case six years after launching his career. He is bullied by his evil boss Borkman, he wets himself in court, and basically things are just not looking up for Sammy. Randy (Heath McIvor) is a purple puppet who's prone to drinking, gambling and sexual excesses. He's lost everything in his divorce trial (guess who his lawyer was), and Sammy has offered him a roof over his head for a couple of weeks… a year ago. Now that they're stuck together, they have grown inseparable, an odd, yet very strong symbiosis.
