Series info and plot

In the Club is a British drama television series that has been airing on BBC One since its premiere in 2014. The show's created by Kay Mellor, and written by Mellor and her daughter Gaynor Faye. Mellor and Polly Hill act as executive producers, and Rollem Productions is behind the series. In the Club is currently in its second series, which has debuted after a long hiatus on May 3, 2016.

The series follows six couples attending a parenting class during their pregnancy, exploring the impact of a new baby coming into the world on the modern-day family. The drama has enough sentiment and enough humor to make it balanced, entertaining and just generally a pleasant way to spend an evening.

IN THE CLUB is remarkably good, becoming one of my all time favorites. The characters are each wonderful, the actors developing them into people we care a lot about, people with more depth than you see at first, and so much humanity. I love following the story of each one, I love the wit and warmth, the way they deal with challenges, the friendships that develop between these diverse people. Screenwriters should study how the creators and actors have accomplished this; it is superbly crafted, down to the smallest details. Each actor is terrific, I watch the episodes again and again, studying how they achieve this. Maybe Vicki most of all. Episode 2-6 was a bit disappointing, left too much undeveloped, and without the welling up of "heart" and satisfaction one feels in all the other episodes. The storyline of Vicki's partner was the one big weak spot - it just did not fit or make sense so inconsistent and not believable. But this is a superb show and I very much hope for more.

I got really hooked on IN THE CLUB
several months ago. Missed it first time around. Well, as soon as I saw there was a series 2 I sent to the UK for it and I have watched the complete series in 24 hours !!! Now what will I do.
There simply HAS to be a third series as there are too many loose ends. i.e. What becomes of baby Sebastian? Do the lads get to keep him? I don't think Midwife Vicky will stay with her Dr but move on with the Driving Instructor Widower of Helen who sadly died after given birth to a baby girl.
Will Roanna & Ray's daughter be pregnant? Who is the father? Will it be Simon? Now THAT would be complicated wouldn't it.
Anyway, nobody can do these series like Kay Mellor.
Also purchased The Syndicate series 2 and that was another absolute cracker. The woman is a genius.
