It’s the end of an era and the beginning of a new one.

Starz confirmed Outlander will return for an eighth and final season consisting of 10 episodes to follow the hit period drama’s upcoming extended 16-episode Season 7 premiering this summer. And while fans will certainly be disappointed that Claire (Caitríona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) Fraser’s adventures across time and space will be ending, the show’s prequel series Blood Of My Blood has been greenlighted at Starz and will consist of 10 episodes. Outlander HAS been renewed for Season 6 and a 7th is likely. This site needs to get more accurate information. This is not the first time it has been behind other similar sites.

Obviously, in a period piece like this, domestic violence is part of life. However, no other shows have ever approached it quite like this. While it would have been easy to write the Claire character in a way that had her strategize and think her way through an unfortunate situation, it was totally unexpected for Claire to react to the abuse by deciding that she truly wants to subjugate herself to Jaime and be his property. Thankfully, he saves her from her own instincts and insists on treating her well. He is so good and perfect. She is so lucky! A lesser man would have allowed her to be his property the way she craved in her inner monologue, but he is gallant and always ready to be the white knight she needs. TV shows never have the courage to show how the way you react to a beating can make the difference between whether the domestic violence strengthens the relationship or ruins it. No other show could have gotten away with such a pro-domestic violence message.

Love, love the books and am in heaven with the way the writers have kept to the spirit of the books. Please DO NOT do what the writers did to Charlaine Harris' Sookie Stackhouse books in the True Blood Series. The plots of the books were changed, characters added and changed, and the wonderful humor of the books was totally lost. Love the show, actors, the writing, everything! Keep up the good work.

I LOVE the fact that the show is so much like the books. The producers haven't edited out the critical parts which makes watching the shows a refreshing treat after reading the series.

Why don't you spin it around and have Jamie come through the stone to experience the 20th century? Half expected it in the last episode of season two. One loophole however...all of those people Claire saved in the past through her medical knowledge - wouldn't that have changed a few futures? Enjoyed the series but maybe could have been less episodes without padding.

Great performances by all the cast aND the sgift back aND forth in time was very effective. Would like to have heard Claire explaining more about Jamie. Love the new characters Bree and Roger. Look forward to seeing more interactions between them ad their relationship develops into something deeper. I hope Jamie's God Father Murtagh is in the next season even though it is not what happened in the book, Jamie is not complete without him.
