A behind-the-scenes documentary look at famous comedy films, clubs and performers, truInside premiered on truTV on February 29, 2016. The documentary anthology series is produced by Left/Right and executive produced by Ken Druckerman, Anneka Jones and Banks Traver. The first season will include ten episodes.
How did the creators manage to create the iconic films that keep the audiences laughing for generations on end? How did certain comedy clubs become talent breeding grounds and for some others it just didn't happen? Through the previously untold inside tales we might have a chance to find out. Films covered in this freshman season include Airplane!, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Bridesmaids, Election, The Jerk, Tommy Boy, Heathers and Bill Durham. The Comedy Cellar and The Groundlings will also be explored. First-hand accounts and interviews are bound to reveal unexpected details about these all-time favorites. Among the talented cast of interviewees are Weird Al Yankovic, Ellie Kemper, Judge Reinhold, David and Jerry Zucker, Maya Rudolph, Carl Reiner and Michael Eisner.
