Series summary and storyline

Flaked is a comedy web series from the production company Electus which is behind such successful TV shows as Running Wild with Bear Grylls, Jane the Virgin and Mob Wives. The new Netflix Original series was developed by 5-time Emmy Award-nominee Will Arnett, who also has a lead role on the show, together with Mark Chappell. They also both serve as executive producers on the project alongside Ben Silverman, Peter Principato and Mitchell Hurwitz. Flaked debuted with season 1 on March 11th, 2016 with eight episodes and returned on June 2nd, 2017 with six new episodes.

The main character of the new series Flaked is Chip. He is the kind of person that – in our society – would be considered a con artist. He is not an ordinary thief, and while being rather skilled at what he does, Chip is always in the money. He introduces himself as a self-help guru with lots of experience and an extensive clientele, who is supposedly helping people to discover and better themselves in order to be happier and more successful in life. However, as soon as the payment for his services comes through, he simply vanishes. Then, one day the usual rhythm of Chip’s life gets interrupted when he falls head over heels in love with his best friend’s girlfriend.

You ever feel like you connect with a show even though it does not mirror your life? Well Flaked is one of those shows that has such strong characterization and one liners that you want to be friends with these people. I hope it comes back…even though I am a few years behind. Huge fan of Will and his acting (or not acting). Sometimes you stumble and land somewhere great. I did with Flaked.

This show is unbelievable, I've watched it 3 times over the entire season, if there is anything that I enjoy than just the story line, its watching these actors do a great job with their roll. Will's a great actor/ comedian but man does he do an unbelievable job at playing this role in this show, i have never seen him in a such a role.I read people commenting on that it has some similarities as other shows but so does every restaurant but we still go & say that was great, enjoy the show for what it is & watching these great actors play it out, Great job guys keep it up I want to see a minimum of 7 seasons. I've been to Venice just a few months ago and it gives me a great feel towards the show as well cause I've experienced the place and met great locals and they have nailed it on the show, such a nostalgic place. Oh thumbs up to the producers as well, keep it up.

I think this show is great! Finally "that" side of a guy is shown, but by a man with a heart, who will ultimately find happiness. Can't wait for the next season!

I was just in Venice so thought I would enjoy the setting. You need to get past the first episode or two. It gets much better the more you watch. I will be disappointed if there is not a season 2.

Flaked was excellent. Like the others mention it's a little hard to get hooked on the first few episodes a lot like Californication, but with that same staying power. Once you watch a few episodes you just can't look away. Hoping for a Season 2...make sure you comment on Netflix!

This show really captures a sense of ones inner self confusion and the wild and unexpected personal battles of life, love and associated consequence. It was a real relief to watch a production that didn't cling or manifest itself to the status quo of the "traditional" off the shelf shows so easily and mass produced in today's line up of what is percived as what an audiance wants to watch. This was a real joy to watch and hats off to will and his writing staff. I could and hope to watch more. Netflix invest in this show - it will define and seperate you from the rest.

Awesome show. Just binge watched it today. I have never binge watched a show before. So that should be saying something. It would be blasphemy to not continue this brilliant story. And that cliff hanger at the end is why I'm writing this here today. I, and the rest of the fans , as well as the creators, deserve more.

Chip's character is deeply flawed, but sympathetic and somehow likable. He disappoints people, but sometimes he is misunderstood. London's eyes are off the chart, and her part is very well played by Ruth Kearney. The only thing I don't like about Flaked is the music. It's dreary and distractingly weird and kind of disorienting. I hit the mute button when there is no dialogue. But the story line is strong and compelling. I hope to see a season 2.

Flaked is great. This show stands out in the Netflix Original Series line up. I was hesitant at first. But after the first episode, the well casted, well written dramedy won me over. It would be a shame not to renew.

I am waiting with baited breath for the new season. This show is a real spot-on portrayal of personalities that you would meet in the sobriety community. They need to have a character who preys on newcomer females. Sadly, that seems to be a staple of the N.A. / A.A. crowd. Thanks for bringing in the tech billionaire. Online addiction hasn't nearly been explored enough.

Definitely enjoyed Flaked. Will Arnett did a great job with his character and his relationships with the others especially Dennis. Really hoping there is a season 2. Need to know what happens with London, and Chips falling out with Dennis.

Great show! I wasn't sure exactly what direction the storyline was taking initially, but the more I watched, the more compelling it became as details emerged and plot twists surfaced. Definitely more of a dramedy/mystery than a comedy but the acting is superb and the characters are endearing and complicated. I'm totally hooked! More please!

Amazing show! I think they know exactly what they are doing. The writing is great. It's simultaneously so sad, and hysterical. I love the way the characters interact; they picked an amazing group of actors and actresses.

They better have another season!!!!!

The show is awesome. I stumbled across it on Netflix and killed the first season in a weekend. I do feel it draws a lot from Californication, but not in a bad way at all though. I am really praying there are many seasons to come.

Flaked is interesting, surprising and challenging. I loved it by the end. The series finale was amazingly well written, acted and shot. Viewers will be challenged to lose their preconceived notions of Arnett and see his character (Chip) for the funny, complicated and damaged person he is. The shallowness is intentional, and while hilarious at times, it is part of Chip's deeper problems. I am ready for more Flaked!
