About the series

Love Thy Sister is a new reality TV show that showcases southern sisters with complex lives. From the producers of the hit reality series Project Runway and Keep Up with the Kardashians, comes a new reality drama about one of the most prominent African-American families in North Carolina. The show premiered on January 8, 2015 on We tv.

Starring three gorgeous and accomplished women — Ruby, Ione and Ellen — the Rucker sisters have captivated fans with Love Thy Sister. Successful, educated, sassy and laugh-out-loud funny, the three bring a new meaning to the word sisterhood. With the usual dose of conflict and drama, the series offers a few interesting twists — like Ione’s coming to terms with the fact that her once best male friend has now transitioned into being a woman. In short, the show puts the word ‘fun’ in dysfunctional as the siblings love hard, and fight even harder.

Current season and ratings

Ruby, the oldest is a former attorney who is married to a successful orthodontist but has been struggling with finances for quite some time. Ellen, the middle sister, was once married to NBA superstar Vince Carter but is now dating a South Carolina politician and eagerly awaiting an official commitment to start a new chapter in her life. Ione, the baby of the family, is also recently divorced from retired NBA player and leans on her family and friends for support as she struggles to stand on her own two feet. Love Thy Sister scores an average 6.7 out of 10 on IMDb and received a 3 out of 5 star ratings on TV Guide. We tv has not made any announcements regarding a possible renewal of Love Thy Sister season 2.

I’m so mad about them not returning, they were real unlike these other reality shows, with the fake stuff. And they were all close. I love that in the sisters. Bring them back .. go on bravo next time

This was one awesome show! I guess if they aren't fighting, side chicks or multiple babies Fathers that they aren't ignorant enough for ratings. It's sad that they always wanna make a certain race of people look bad. But here we have educated group of women that are successful and classy with a Lil edge and they cancel it. Please bring this show back, it's a need for young girls to see that there is better more tasteful way to live.

You are so right!! Took the words right out my mouth! I just happened to catch this show on a whim. I was channel surfing on Samsung TV and stumbled upon it. I was so entertained and happy to see how great of a show it was. Although it’s 2022, I found it refreshing and sad at the same time. I was sooo much better than any of the shows geared toward people of color! It was positive and a great representation of black women that needs to be displayed celebrated! I’m so tired of all the fighting and drama that keeps ppl glued to the screen. I know drama sells, but we have to have better example of our race especially our young ladies coming up and just us as a whole. It’s time for some better and positive shows that make out people shine in the best light! ENOUGH of the ghetto drama programming! BRING THIS SHOW BACK PLEASE! We need it! For the culture! ????????????

The Rucker Sisters is truly a joy to watch. This is a show that should truly come back. They are hilarious and you never know what really will happen next. All three are very interesting characters that gives TV a refreshing spark. This is bar none one of WE tv's best shows to date. It's a must for their return... I give it two thumbs up!!
