About the show
Open Heart is an American-Canadian mystery drama series that centers on a teen who, following a bit of trouble, was sentenced to do community service at the local hospital. Created by Linda Schuyler, season one of the series premiered on January 20, 2015 on the TeenNick channel in the U.S. and on the YTV channel in Canada.
Dylan Blake (Karis Cameron) is a rebellious 16 year old who is having a hard time dealing with her father’s disappearance. After getting arrested for breaking and entering, Dylan gets sentenced to community service at the local Open Heart Hospital where her sister and mother work as doctors and her grandparents are board members and benefactors. Coincidentally, it’s also the last place her father was seen before his mysterious disappearance some time ago. As she begins her community service, Dylan is also on the hunt for the truth behind what really happened to her dad. She soon discovers a web of lies surrounding her family and the hospital that leaves her with more questions than answers.
