Series info and cast
The Prancing Elites Project is a US reality television series that debuted on Oxygen on April 22, 2015. It is produced by Crazy Legs Productions and executive produced by Tom Cappello and Alana Goldstein. The current second season premiered on January 19, 2016.
The series follows a Mobile, Alabama five-member dance team that has been around since 2004. Adrian Clemons, Kentrell Collins, Kareem Davis, Jerel Maddox and Tim Smith are not just one of many dance teams in the industry. The Prancing Elites, an “African American, gay and gender non-conforming” troupe, as the network itself reports. They have to deal with all of the challenges of a regular dance team plus the difficulties related to their racial and gender identities in a state that just wouldn't seem ready for a sweeping acceptance of these dancers. The Prancing Elites are attempting to be a part of their community, to participate in local town parades and sporting events, but the local residents are not embracing the troupe.
