At this point, Mary Mary boasts a decent 6.4 out of 10 star overall approval rating on IMDb and the two sisters certainly had a very successful run over the last five years. From what we have heard, the show will end on a high note, as the previous fifth season garnered overall 12.7 Million viewers in total, which made the show the number 1 cable program for its time slot amongst African-American women within the 25-54 demographic. The fans were upset when the news came out in August that the beloved series Mary Mary will not get renewed for Season 7 and will end after the 6th and final season.
Basic info and summary
Mary Mary is a reality TV show that follows the daily lives of sisters and musicians Erica and Tina Campbell. The show originally debuted on WE tv on March 29th, 2012 and has since been renewed for overall six installments. Season 6 of Mary and Mary premiered on September 28th, 2017 with six hour-long episodes for its last and final season. It was announced in August that the sixth season will also be the last and final season for the show. Mary Mary hails from the production company Entertainment One Television and is executive produced by Howie Miller, Tara Long and Scott Teti amongst others.
Erica and Tina are sisters and part of the Mary Mary duo of urban contemporary gospel singers. The show chronicles their daily lives as they balance nurturing their families whilst keeping busy with their music careers. The duo broke onto the music scene with a popular song called “Shackles Praise You”. The name Mary Mary was inspired by two Biblical women, the mother of Jesus and Mary Magdalene. With two albums chartering at No.1 on the Billboard Top Gospel list, the duo has received four Grammys, and has been nominated for numerous other music awards.
