About the series

Building Wild is a construction reality series developed for National Geographic. Featuring the work of Paul DiMeo and Pat Bakatis — together known as The Cabin Kings, the show is a first DIY series to feature backwoods getaways. Created by George Verschoor and William Spout, season one of Bulding Wild debuted on January 14, 2014, with season two premiering on February 24, 2015.

Filmed in and around Bennington, Vermont, The Cabin Kings work with clients who have commissioned a custom designed and built cabin. Some of the work featured includes a cabin that rotates 360 degrees and even one that floats. As the geniuses on the hit show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Paul and Pat are masters at building dream homes in remote, backwoods locations. Each episode features the duo meeting with clients and then racing against the clock to complete the project, which sometimes includes first building a road to access the remote sites.

I enjoyed season 1 but not so much season 2. They seemed to change the dynamic of the show and it just didn't work for me.

I am a 75 year old young woman and I LOVE this show and Paulie and Tuffy!!! Never have I seen so much native ingenuity and creativity not to mention the llaugh out loud antics of these two.
This show alone will cause me to live longer because of the endorphins it creates.
National Geographic keep it coming and give it TIME.
Sincerely, Patti Brooks

So disappointed that this show is in question to be renewed. It's a program that can be enjoyed with the entire family. It's such a shame that when I finally find a great program it is taken off the air. Society favors reality TV that leads towards things that are out of the norm verses some good old family values and great workmanship...shame on national Geo for not standing on the side of family programing that embraces the old fashion family! We need more programs like this and we seem to be getting less and less. Nat Geo get with the program!

Best show on tv, never fail to dvr. How, how, how does one contact the crew to consider a heavily forested michigan property as one of their projects for season 3? (Please let there be a season 3). Husband a freshly retired fire chief and wife a pending retired police officer, both from Detroit, relocating to 80 acre homestead 90 miles north of the big city and thinking what a great idea to hobble together a wild build reflecting the 2 career choices as one unique retirement hangout boasting tons of memorabilia from both jobs. Cool idea or what? Even got a full fire pole set up, hoses, hydrant, etc. ..
