Telenovela is a new American sitcom television series that premiered on NBC on December 7, 2015. It's created by Chrissy Pietrosh, Jessica Goldstein and Robert Harting and produced by Tall and Short Productions, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment and Universal Television. The first season of the half-hour comedy series was originally set to contain thirteen episodes, but was cut to eleven in mid-production.
An entertaining and lighthearted (bordering on dopey) behind-the-scenes look at the filming of a telenovela, the series stars Eva Longoria as Ana Sofia Calderon, the star of the Spanish-language sitcom who doesn't speak Spanish. Telenovela is centered around the drama on the set, as well as on the personal relationships of the lead characters. Ana's off-camera life is just as rich in intrigue as the life of her character.

The series holds a generally positive 6.8/10 rating on IMDb and a 63 out of 100 score on Metacritic. Critics and viewers alike tend to like the comedy series, with the general consensus on the fact that it is funny – a great thing for a comedy, right? UPDATED May 15, 2015: Ahead of next week’s 2016 Upfront presentations major TV networks are finalizing their programming slates and this week has been a bloodbath of cancellations when dozens of shows on the bubble got axed my big networks. The NBC’s newest sitcom Telenovela, starring Eva Longoria, is also going to bite the dust. The show has been cancelled after just one season. Premiering alongside another newcomer, Superstore, the new comedy failed to deliver strong ratings, delivering just 3.4 million viewers per episode and rather lukewarm reviews.

So disappointed they cancelled this funny Hispanic show. Rather this over any reality show, poor movie on NBC's part. :sad:
