Food Porn is an American food documentary television series that debuted on FYI on December 3, 2015. It is hosted by a New York restaurant owner Michael Chernow, produced by Loud TV and executive produced by Bethenny Franklin, Nick Grigg, David George, Gena MacCarthy and James Bolosh. The second season premiered on May 14th, 2017.
The series’ concept grows out of the recent trend of photographing and sharing pictures of the food on your plate on social media. A new #foodporn tag appears on Twitter every two seconds, and there are 50 million #foodporn posts on Instagram, so it's clearly a subject with viewership potential. What is it that makes sharing pictures of food so insanely popular? Fourteen 30-minute episodes go beyond the photos to explore the dishes behind the pictures, to analyze the phenomenon as a whole and to discover the reasons for the insane popularity of the genre.
