Summary and plot

Written by Caitlin and Caroline Moran, Raised by Wolves is a British sitcom that is loosely based on the sisters’ childhood in Wolverhampton, England. Receiving mixed critics’ reviews, Raised by Wolves series 1 premiered on Channel 4 on March 16, 2015, and the second series is currently on the air, having debuted on March 2, 2016. Raised by Wolves is produced by Big Talk Productions and exec produced by Kenton Allen, Caroline Leddy and Matthew Justice.

This is comedy series that portrays an unconventional family that is run by a single mother of six children. Trying to raise smart and independent people out of her children, the cool and pragmatic Della uses a parenting approach not approved by many others, but one that works for her. Cramped in a three-bedroom house, this family does its best to cope with adolescence, differences in characters, money problems and feminist issues that arise in Della and her daughters.

Current season, ratings and renewal chances

In spite of the critics’ reviews, the series boasts high scores of 8 out of 10 on IMDb and 82% on Rotten Tomatoes. With some calling it refreshingly honest, the comedy definitely has a loyal audience base and attracts many due to its brilliant acting and a well-written script. The first series averaged 1.3 million viewers per episode, with a 6.3% share of the audience, and the second series lost practically none of the momentum, and attracts an average of 1.12 million viewers. The current series wraps up on April 6, 2016, and although there have been no announcements form the network yet, the show is likely to be renewed for another run. Please stay tuned for further announcements and find out whether this comedy gem will come back to entertain the audience yet again.

Latest news

UPDATED August 9, 2016: In spite of the fact that Raised by the Wolves has been axed by Channel 4, ruling out the possibility of a third season on the same network, series creator Caitlin Moran is not giving up that easily. She has launched a campaign to resurrect the sitcom in some form, and although approaching other broadcast networks has not yielded any positive results, alternatives like producing an on-demand series or a web series do exist. Stay tuned for news of possible reincarnation.

Brilliant, raw and gutsy, both these series were an intelligent breath of fresh air. We want more!

Caitlyn, what do you need for us to lobby Netflix and get them to make series 3 - like the latest series of Arrested Development was.

Sorry for the errors in my comments. Spell check has a mind of its own. I meant to say Grampy navigating as a newly single man will be interesting..

:Love, love, love this show. It's refreshingly honest, laugh out loud funny and the acting superb. Please let there be a season 3. So much more to explore between the comfort of age stories, Grammy dealing with divorce and Della getting by. Seriously enjoyed each episode.
