Storyline and plot

Created by Neil Webster and Charlie Skelton, SunTrap is a British sitcom that follows an undercover journalist who is forced to go on the run and hide on a Spanish island after one of his undercover plots is foiled. Produced by Happy Tramp Productions for BBC, SunTrap Series 1 premiered on BBC One on May 27, 2015.

Woody is a master-of-disguises undercover journalist who finds himself in a pickle when one of his plots is hindered by his corrupt editor. Trying to escape the aftermath, he moves to a Spanish island where he knows his former mentor, Brutus, is running a bar and may be able to help him. Although Brutus is not happy to see Woody at first, he later realizes that he can make money by letting the latter solve his investigations and play the disguises game.

Current season, ratings and renewal chances

Receiving largely negative reviews, this series scores 5.5 out of 10 on IMDb and is described as comedy road kill by the British The Telegraph. Although there hasn’t been any official news on the future of the series, due to its current reviews and ratings, it’s not likely that the show will be renewed. However, anything is possible and we should know shortly on the network’s decision about the fate of SunTrap Series 2. Check back with us for the latest updates on the show’s status.

Just imagine a world where all we got to watch was what The Telegraph liked. Apologies for that, it’s not a nice place. All the more reason to commission as many series as humanely possible.

"Comedy road kill" summed this series up very nicely. It had no redeeming features - it wasn't funny, or clever, nice to look at or even visibly alive. It was just awful and if money changed hands then the BBC should be ashamed of themselves.

Series 2? You've got to be joking. Only if they need something so bad that it makes "Mrs Brown's Boys" look good. I've noted the writers' names so that I can be sure not to watch anything written by them ever again.
