Basic info and storyline

Real Rob is an American scripted comedy series that originally premiered on streaming giant Netflix on December 1st, 2015 with eight half-hour episodes for its very first season. On September 29th, 2017 the second season was released and it contains another set of eight brand new episodes. The show is produced by From Out of Nowhere Productions and was written, directed, produced and self-financed by Rob Schneider, who also stars in it as the lead character. Schneider's co-writers for the series were Patricia Azarcoya and Jamie Lissow. The series is distributed by Tricon Film and Television.

Filmed in Florida, USA, the show is based on real events in the stand-up comedian's life, with a certain inevitable exaggeration for entertainment purposes. Real Rob stars Rob Schneider, his real-life wife Patricia Azarcoya, his real-life two-year old daughter Miranda, and other real-life characters around him – friends, family and colleagues, and, importantly, his lousy assistant (Jamie Lissow) and a stalker (Max Armin). Rob's stand-up numbers are mixed into the episodes, intermeshed with the chaotic scenes from both personal and professional life of the Hollywood actor-producer-director. The cast is small, and there's naturally a lot of Schneider on screen.

This show is a light domestic sitcom with all the right elements. Great chemistry between leads, very funny organic situations, really great comedic acting by Schneider and whimsical music. Rob's character is funny and a perfect medium for Schneider's physical humor. Patricia, his real life wife, is very funny and believable -- I don't think you could cast her part any better.

I really enjoyed season one. I thought the show was hilarious. If they don't produce a second season then I'm honesty going to be very disappointed. My husband and I watched two or three episodes every night untill it was over. When we realized we saw the last one, we were like "Nooooooooooo!!!!"
