I enjoyed Port Protection & always looked forward to the next season. So disappointing, now I have to search to find some similar. Even Life Below Zero & others are not renewing or ultra slow to get a new season. šŸ¤Ø

Good, they need to cancel that show! It is just a bunch of obese people putting on a ā€œshowā€ when the film crew comes to town! It is only partially facts and truth. Tired of watching that chomo on the show. They need to replace David Squibb!

Does your remote not work? You are unable to change the channel? Get your mom, she'll do it for you. I'd love to see you attempt a few days out there.

Timbi you are my favorite in the show. My boyfriend and I live in Alabama. We would love to eventually come to Alaska. Do y'all get alot of tourism in port protection since the series began? [smile]

Aw, thank you. That's really nice to hear. I left the island in 2017, so I'm not really sure what's happening out there now. It was starting to increase by the time I left, but even a few new visitors are more than are usual prior to the show. I do believe there are several places to stay now! I hope you get to make your trip to Alaska and that it's everything you hoped it would be.

Its sad that it is a sign of the times that all these money driven networks have gone woke which is also a sign of the impending death of our society, port protection taught extreme life and survival lessons and no socialist authoritarian society can have that.
Just look at all of disneys programing changes , the smallest portion of society now has the largest voice and is hell bent on making the rest of bow down to there programing demands. I am canceling my subscription,,the only recourse I have :(((: :(((:

Actually.... Port Protection and similar villages are very socialism based. The people of the communities work together to achieve common interests. Authoritarianism, no... Socialism, absolutely.

It's National Geographic making the decision. NG has gone woke. Despizing self reliant Americans who abhor dependency. I will not watch anything from NG now. Historic revisionism is its goal. Insert obscene expletives here. And those first generation migrants, many illegal, don't have a clue. They are the stars in the epic "Trashing of America". Pass the word

New episode first week of January, I donā€™t know why itā€™s not advertised, even the commercial for it is sooo short; itā€™s literally Curly saying ā€œyounger people coming here is what we need, people to keep this town goingā€ and thatā€™s it, other then doing a couple pictures of the Bay

Like many here, I LOVE the Port Protection show and it was/is an absolute, must-watch show for me. There is just an almost undefinable quality or something special about this program that reaches out and holds my interest as few other "reality shows" do these days.
With most other shows and their obsession with what I, and others, call "Conflict Programming", meaning their relentless showing and the fostering of tension, arguing, fighting, and discord is so offputting as to not be watchable.
I can't even try to count how many times I've rewatched all of the episodes in seasons 1 thru 5 and until today I thought that there were no more episodes of Port Protection after season 5 available.
So glad that the show lives on!!!

We want both Port Protection and The Last Alaskins back on regular TV. If the Animal Planet, NatGeo and Discovery Channel think they are serving the Public interest (especially children) with shows like Naked and afraid, Wicked Tuna (where all they do is fight and argue) or Alaska the last Frontier (please! They live 6 miles from a McDonalds) and It's so phoney except for Ivan and Eve (my opinion, sorry). Show programing like Port protection and The Last Alaskins that actually respect the Planet, Animals and the Enviroment. We have taped and kept these good shows since the beginning. We too watch them over and over. We are aware that Money makes the rules in most Corporations today and Morality and kindness has little to do with decissions in a lot of programming. We simply turn off the Junk; it's not entertaining.

Out of all the animals in the world, humans are the only species in the animal kingdom to have sex with the same gender, and suppose to have intelligence šŸ˜³šŸ¤¦.

Wrong. Many animal species engage in homosexual behavior.

Homosexuality and Lesbianism are perversions and deviations from normal behavior. You say many species practice homosexual behavior....you need to support your claim with facts....not just mindless drivel. Put up or.....

Any and all mammalian species on the face of this earth, nonflight capable birds have proven instances of homosexual behavior. Everything else in the animal kingdom can change their sex (reptiles) or are asexual. A couple of my ducks, because there was no drake, displayed very strong male behaviors and characteristics. You are obviously able to operate a computer so find your own sources for your uneducated, bigoted claims. In addition, all human babies start out as female and during the development process some of those babies become male. You are naturally transgender, lady. Act like it and get in the kitchen and make me some pie.

I look forward to watching everyone at Port Protection, I am older now and canā€™t do the things that they do and I llive my life through all those great people, fishing, hunting, building, gathering wood for winter, ice fishing , bird hunting, getting together sharing their stories and sharing with us some very personal down to earth stories. I really do miss Gary, he was my favorite! Keep it going you wonā€™t be sorry!

This is one of my VERY favorite shows! I certainly hope there can be a grass roots effort to persuade National Geographic to keep this show or at the very least move it to PBS or Paramount Plus or Prime Video! I am constantly amazed at the pure filth and stupid sitcoms on television now. This was a wonderful program that could be watched by all ages (with some common sense). We have re-watched the episodes over and over.

I totally agree with you about the filth that is on tv. I am not prejudice about the gay community but there is so much now on tv that it feels like is being shoved down my throat.
They can Live their lifestyle anyway they choose but donā€™t expose my young family too it.

Why do you think your "young family" would be traumatized over seeing anyone in love, male-female, female-female, and male-male? My 5-year-old granddaughter has no problem with seeing these relationships. she is not traumatized, and she realizes she can love whomever she wants. Personally, I'm happy she witnesses same-sex and interracial relationships and knows these are all appropriate, loving partnerships. I feel like even though you say you are not prejudiced, it's apparent you probably are having difficulty accepting these relationships. and it will flow over onto your children. Even though they're not on the show, same-sex relationships are present and accepted in Port Protection. Just an FYI.

Unless something has changed as I understand Port protection will not be renewed for a new season. Why, or how do they come up with your decisions. I can't believe they would discontinue this program when I find it to be the most entertaining and enjoyable of all. I have several recorded and I watch them over and over. I live through some of the reality programs since I am almost 70 years old for me to go out to poor protection and start a life is virtually impossible. It never fails no matter what in life whether it be that favorite item at the grocery store or that favor hamburger used to buy at the local fast food place. That it gets discontinued. Here's another example of that happening. I always trying to understand that you need to go with what sells. In order to make your profits. But I can't believe that this program was not a benefit to their network. And I find it very disappointing that you should choose not to renew it.

I do love this show alot but why do sone people appear so overweight if they are supposed subsistence people? Just curious as it seems like all the money they make for the show is now affording them a different sort of life that is not truly subsistence. Iā€™ve been watching since episode 1 and several people seem almost obese now. Not shaming anyone just wondering how a subsistence lifestyle and working so hard would cause a weight gain?

They probably only have 3 months out of the year to work hard and get everything in place to live indoors for 9 months because of horrific weather. You may have a comfy car to drive to your plush gym to work the fat off your behind all year round but these people don't. Could you live indoors for 9 months and then lose all your fat stored in 3 months?

John, Port Protection season 5 premiered last night 1/18/22. Unfortunately on the east coast FIOS and TV Guide do not list it. If you watch what is listed (Life Below Zero: Next Generation), 8 - 10 pm Port Protection is the second hour. Hope this helps.

I saw that on Putlockers they put it back on (Port Protection) as season 4 or something like that and the episodes were all from previous shows, boy that tick me off but I like the people from Port P. so I just shut up and watched them. I like the whole lot of these folks cause they are all my age except for that young gal with the houseboat and the guy whose skiff sunk.

This show is refreshingly sweet with great people, no drama filled jerks who are filled with either hate or hubris. Just sweet hardworking people. This show is awesome and I miss all of them.ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøLife below zero has seriously turned into nothing more than Sue Aikenā€™s show and I cannot abide her anymore. Between her and that guy who brags about living alone and doing everything without any help at all by modern day anything drives me crazy. She is mean spirited and he never shuts his mouth. The show has lost site of its charm, youā€™ve turned it into a reality show that revolves around those two. We love the dog sledder and the other man who trains all the dogs and of course the Hailstones. Youā€™ve basically squeezed everyone else out and Iā€™ve stopped watching the show. Aikenā€™s voice is coma inducing. The other guy never stops narrating his every freaking move. Awful. Please bring back Port Protection.

I for one really like and respect Sue Aiken. She's a badass if you ask me.

On the PP show. I can't see the network putting the show to bed. It's successful and let's face it for the network it's all about the dollar.

Now I could see the talent might not want to do it anymore. They did it for a few years. Made a few bucks and now maybe their done. Let's face it you don't move up there to be bothered by cameras following you around. Curly made enough to buy a new skiff , Mary got a new rifle, Timbi and Hans got a greenhouse and barn for the town, and Amanda got a house boat out of the deal. It probably got tired and boring for them. I could see some of them putting up with it just to help Gary build a nest egg for himself. RIP Gary you were my favorite. What a guy. I'm sad just thinking about him. A gem of a man. ā˜®ļø

[smile] I could not agree more with your assessment of the show! I also do like Ricko DeWilde and his children learning the native culture he wants to pass on to them. I think my favorite show was "The Last Alaskans" and was so sad to see it cancelled.
