For the cast and crew of The Last Kingdom, the show's conclusion didn't come as a huge surprise. This is because, from the show's conception in 2015, it was always planned to adapt two of Cornwell's books per season.

At the time The Last Kingdom dropped on Netflix, Cornwell had published just 10 books in his The Saxon Stories novel series, meaning Season 5 would be the last. (Source: newsweek.com)

The actors are so amazing. Each part is played with such art. Great artists for sure. ❤ ❤ The music score is so fitting to all the scenes. Its beautiful. Please continue series. CAN'T WAIT. !!!

❤ I fell in love with the LAST KINGDOM series from the very first season and have binge watched all 4 seasons. Each season building on the last and definitely giving the viewer so much more. It is without a doubt the best EVER. please continue to make new ones. Its fabulous!!!

Costumes are fabulous on this and the story line is gripping. Writers are busy I am sure!. The acting is excellent. I am hoping for more ! I love the landscape you are filming on! GREAT SHOW!!!

So, only Netflix in the States? So, no BBC America at all? What a dirty move! I really, really like the program and my Pa is already in book seven and was waiting for the show to come back. Now neither one of us can watch it. Thanks a lot Netflix: YOU SUCK! Same to you BBC!

Accidentally clicked on this series. Whoa! Interesting plot, characters, and storyline. Don't need the graphic sex scenes (Don't need yours...we can make our own, afterward), but a good story, good actors, and good battle scenes.I give it four thumbs up! three from previous battles. Seriously, if you like medieval storylines, and can adequately handle a broadsword, maybe this will be entertaining for ya. If you are looking for mega movie tits, sex mutilations and whatever, game of Thrones may be your avenue, but this was good, and I feel it may/could become better. I'll wait for season two in anticipation... dark, gritty, ominous. ya.....uh YA!
I was waiting, wishing something would surface like this. This was cool! Hmmmmm!

Love this show... I think we need to know more about Alfred and the birth of England. BBC is perfect place for it... I remember a long way back..1998..99..2001.. BBC America was good... now it's [censored].. playing the same show all day? What does star trek have to do with the uk? BBC? Please look at your earlier programme formats... review.. teach Americans about uk... and for those of us that lived in the uk.. give us something that resembles BBC. . 1 or 2 or something...

BBC Canada has the same kind of [censored]. Was hoping for the best of the BBC. Since they have multiple channels how hard is it to populate BBC Canada with the best of them all. Just another [censored]py cable channel.

Want the best of the BBC watch PBS (for as long as you have it) or Space.

From the pilot episode I was hooked and binge watched the entire first season on DVD.
This is now at the top of my favorite shows along with Vikings and Game of Thrones and Walking Dead.
The cast is absolutely great and the story line is wonderful. I can't wait for season 2 . I was unaware of the book series but definitely will be getting them.

I read the series, I lived the role in my total enjoyment and the TV series has consumed me.
I am hooked and I don't want to come out of this reverie.

I read the trilogy and find that it is somewhat true to the story. However, I truly enjoyed watching season 1 and did not find myself comparing series to book. Looking forward to Season2. The cast is awesome!!
