Criminal Minds Season 17 on Paramount+ Scheduled to Premiere in 2024

”Criminal Minds” Season 17 Confirmed by Actress Page Brewster

In a tweet from actress Paget Brewster, she announced that filming for “Criminal Minds” Season 17 will begin in January of 2024 “at a breakneck pace.” The season has since been confirmed to consist of 10 episodes, much like the previous season of “Criminal Minds: Evolution.” Shooting was scheduled to begin in April 2023, but due to the Hollywood writer strikes, shooting was pushed back to June 2023 and eventually to January of 2024.

In this new vision of “Criminal Minds,” the COVID pandemic plays front and center and now the BAU must face their biggest and newest threat yet. All of the cast has been confirmed to return for “Criminal Minds” Season 17; this includes Joe Mantegna, Aisha Tyler, A.J. Cool, Adam Rodriguez and the primary antagonist of the new “Criminal Minds” Season 17, Zach Gilford playing as Elias Voit/Sicarius.

There is still no confirmation of a premiere date yet for “Criminal Minds” Season 17, although the show has just entered into filming and will require time for production. The second half of 2024 is the most likely target for “Criminal Minds,” although if production wraps early, new episodes could land as early as the first half of 2024.

”Criminal Minds” Season 17 will premiere exclusively on Paramount+, as did the previous Season 16. The episodes will premiere on a weekly basis, and there is the potential for multiple episodes to be premiered in the first week.

Updates on the Cast and Crew of “Criminal Minds” Season 17

All of the actors from “Criminal Minds” have been confirmed for a Season 17 return, although there will be plenty of potential for characters to be written out or new characters to be written in. Paget Brewster returns as Prentis, Joe Mantegna returns as Rossi, A.J. Cook returns as JJ, and Aisha Tyler returns as Tara.

The show began writing and production shortly after the Hollywood strikes, so as of this writing, none of the main cast have any upcoming roles per IMDB. Paget Brewster has just under 475,000 followers on her Instagram and tends to post pictures of food, and occasionally behind-the-scenes pictures of productions she is working on. Aisha Tyler also has an Instagram, although she only has four posts and uses it more for promotional and touring purposes.

Joe Mantegna rarely posts on his Instagram, but he has just over 660,000 followers. A.J. Cook has more than 1.2 million followers on hers.

It is the same series, Criminal Minds, but probably because was taken by Paramount+ they tried a rebrand and thats why added Evolution, but, is the same thing. Is not a different show since they continued with season 16 and didnt started from season 1.

Best show ever.

I am so excited that it's coming back even if only 10 episodes. Please please please I'm begging and pleading and praying ? so so hard that it gets renewed. Also, I know Shemer is doing well on SWAT but a little bit of Morgan is better then none at all. My biggest prayer is for HOTCH to come back he was always my favorite and I miss seeing him.

I'm so so sad this show is cancelled. I love it and it's one of the best. Why is this happening??? I find a lot of the new shows are cheesy and tacky, how do they keep going. I'm really gonna miss this, hopefully I can watch reruns, or better still, bring it back.

I knew that at some point will end, after all lasted 14 seasons, but still ... i wanted more and more from this show.

And a 15 season of 10 episodes?? why not a full 24 episodes?? :(

I hope I have been reading incorrect info on who is to play Spencer. I read some actor who is 10 years older and looks more like Cruz is to play him. I hope I am wrong and that the information was totally wrong. If MGG doesn't come back as Spencer, I will not be watching.

I just re-watched season 12. I have always loved this show. The turnover in characters is more real life. Hotch could not get his smile back and I don't miss him as much as I thought I would. Love the new characters, and c'mon, ya'all complained when Emily left, now.....huh? I hope it never goes away but, hey, Garcia really does need a boy friend. lol

Just got through watching the season finale (05/10/2017). Loved seeing Morgan(Shemar Moore), but I wish his role was longer, don't get me wrong I love it that Adam Rodriquez (Eric Delco) from CSI: Miami has joined the show, he's an awesome actor, but the show just isn't the same without Derek Morgan and Hotchner. Please bring them back.

I agree with "oldskoolgurl" regarding Hotch. The show is not the same without him. Of course, Shemar Moore is missed very much as well. If there is a way to bring Hotch back on the show, I believe it is the duty of Mark Gordon Company to see that it happens. I also agree about Prentiss. She is not the leader type. She is a terrific actor, but action scenes are more her venue. The show lacks excitement now that Thomas Gibson and Shemar Moore are gone.

This was one of my favorite programs but not so much lately just can't get into Prentiss she can't act and makes the show boring. I miss Morgan but the show was still good until they brought Prentiss back.

This is a fabulous show with a lot of twists and turns. You have many loyal followers and it would b a big disappointment if it were cancelled because of the money. That's stupid and crazy. Please renew and keep this outstanding show ongoing for a long time.

Keep the show going! I would love to have Hotch back, but he's been gone before. We've made it through Gideon leaving, JJ leaving/came back, Prentis leaving a few times/came back and the most hurtful...Morgan leaving! The show still has life left in it!! And can always bring some back! Keep the show rolling!! LOVE IT!!!

It was sad enough that Emily left and then Morgan and Hotchner. I just hope JJ, Reid and Garcia doesn't leave. When Emily left I cried, but I was like it's ok there's still the rest of the crew, but with 1/2 of the crew leaving my heart is breaking.

It is not criminal minds without hotch it feels wrong the producers should just suck it up and bring him back if they do that day would be the highest rating episode if they don't bring him back they should just call it quits

I don't think criminal minds is going to have another season. without Hotch to many viewers will quit watching it including myself. I hope they at least exit him where then can bring him back if need be.

Criminal Minds is my favorite TV show. I have watched all of the seasons, but if they don't bring back Thomas Gibson who plays Hotch, I won't be watching it anymore. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU TO TRY TO REMOVE THE LEAD CHARACTER AND EXPECT TO KEEP YOUR FOLLOWING.

I know my opinion is but one, but I'll bet I am not the only one.

I totally agree that without Hotch I won't be watching anymore. It was bad enough to lose Derek Morgan n now this is too much. Loved this show for many years so I am very disappointed.
