So sad to see that they have cancelled APTCH... I thought this was the best program I have watched on TV in a very long time. I haven't seen Season 6, so will have to watch it on ACORN.
I hope they change their minds about a 7th season.

Hi All, have just sent an email hopefully to to you all but in case it has tripped off somewhere here goes again.
Looking through the TV page for next week the BBC states there is a NEW series being shown from I think 2.15pm BBC1. I watched the past months old series and if I have read this correctly next week will have Matthew Goddard stirring Ash Parks waters and Georges conversion.

There are six series Sharon. Unless you subscribe to a provider that allows you to download, no. I watched it on YouTube but the videos aren't very good quality and they want you to subscribe to their channel first.

I was so drawn to the final series BUT WHAT HAPPENED !? IT FIZZLED REALLY BADLY INTO A SECOND-RATE SOAP OPERA !! I WAS SOO TERRIBLY DISAPPOINTED BUT WATCHED IT THRU TO THE BITTER AND GHASTLY END !!

I was browsing, looking for something to binge watch on Acorn. Wow...lovely surprise to see the sixth season of Place to Call Home. I believed it ended with Regina's death which had me sad to think I had to say goodbye to these characters. They had become friends. Season 6 ...I will savor!

I was very surprised reading that the actor portraying Sarah’s former husband ( Rene) is in fact her husband in real life..
Also that doctor (Jack ) is married to one of the cast members from APTCH ! This is “family” in more ways than one !!

Attention all UK followers. I have heard back from the BBC and they make the following 2 points;
1. It is 'customary' for the BBC to edit programmes with regard to their content(!) and the time of transmission. If I could furnish them with further details regarding the actress stating scenes here in the UK were being cut, they would investigate.
2.The BBC have not yet decided if they will show series 6 here in the UK.

SO fellow followers contact the BBC and forward your opinions with regard to the above. As licence payers I feel we do have a right to 'guide' Auntie in the right direction.

Hi Angela, I have lived through that era and we, as a family, emigrated to Australia in 1959, sadly my mother was ill because of the heat but mostly I would say homesickness played a major part, and so eventually we returned to England. The way Australia is shown is the Oz I remember and fell in love with.
A lovely series and one I believe would encourage further followers if put on at a peak time over here whereby those not able to watch in the afternoons could be home in time to see it for themselves as an evening viewing

The sixth season is on Acorn TV and only three episodes have been released. Very very sad that this show has been discontinued. FYI I watch show on Amazon.

No you aren't looking in the wrong place. I have read through most of the reviews posted below and it would appear dear old Auntie Beeb is in favour of cutting some scenes, no reason forthcoming. it will however, eventually be shown here just no date given

I'm absolutely flabbergasted that the BBC want to cut scenes from APTCH.
If 90% of the scenes were raunchy (bordering on pornographic as some series they have shown recently have been) bedroom scenes they wouldn't be cut!!
Oh! Auntie Beeb do get your priorities right, show a lovely series like this in place of the cookery/quiz programmes we are inundated/saturated with!

Hi, I was really looking forward to seeing the final series however, DISAPPOINTMENT big time, it isn't being shown on BBC here in England, it's on a digital channel. I keep my fingers crossed it will be taken up by the BBC (as they showed the previous 5 series) at some later date perhaps. I even managed to get friends hooked on it, here's hoping!!

Here in BC Canada, BBC Canada airs the past seasons, I've watched them twice, but they are not able to tell me if season six is coming. so disappointed as well. Hoping PBS airs it. Love this show, cheers!

Oh no I love this show.. so this is the last season.. It's so good all of the acting is brilliant... when does it air in the UK? My mother loves it too, shes had a stroke since last series so I'm hoping this one will make her interested in something she used to love...thanks to everyone though for a fantastic show and a very handsome doctor ???

Season 6 A Place to Call Home starts August 31 on Netflix and Acorn TV. I’m so happy. Can’t wait so see. You can also binge watch the other seasons on Netflix and Acorn. ??❤️❤️❤️

Ive rewatched each series and loved them but still have a soft spot for the very first episodes the beginning was fabulous ..I had my niece in Australia send me the second series that was before ACORN or PBS Started showing ..it's like saying goodbye to a very dear friend ..
Well we can still keep rewatching but it really really is time to say goodbye !!!
Kuddos to everyone for those wonderful outstanding seasons ...
I can imagine as was stated...( the lovely actress playing REGINA) ..said they're all family soo am sure the actors found it very bitter sweet ..as we will too...

APTCH is among my top three all time favorite shows. The acting, writing and directing are all superb, and some of the best television I've ever seen. It's too bad that season 6 will be the last, but it's better that it goes out while the story lines are still fresh and the actors haven't become bored with their characters as it seems to happen so often when shows that were once great become unbearable to watch. I'm still only half way through series 5, so there were a few spoilers, such as Regina's death, when reading some of these comments, but I'm really looking forward to watching what will most likely be an extremely emotional, well done season finale.

I just finished watching Season 5 on dvd. I LOVE it! Thank you so much for continuing A Place to Call Home. I'm so glad there will be a season 6. I was a little concerned since so much was wrapped up and all the "bad guys" were taken care of. I can't wait to see what surprises you have for us. Thank you!!!!

I cannot believe my luck. This afternoon I sat with great expectation and sadness that this would be the last,it didn't disapoint APTCH wraps me up like a comfy blanket for nearly an hour.I can't explain the feeling I feel I am living in a mixture of fear, sadness and Happiness,the tears just flowed at the end.Words are not enough to explain the love I feel for all the cast who were Magnificent. I loved every one of them the acting was memorable Thank you Thank you Thank you and today I have read that the 6 Series begins in August 2018 I hope that is true.I can't believe my Luck as I said earlier. love you all for A P T C H.XX????

I absolutely love 'A Place To Call Home'. The story lines and Actors are all brilliant. As soon as I finish an episode, I can't wait for the next one. Thank goodness it's on daily and not weekly!
I wasn't surprised to find out that the Creator, Beven Lee also wrote 'Sons And Daughters' - another wonderful Series. First watched it in the early 1980's and again in 2003 when it was repeated.

I absolutely love this series. In USA, signed up to Acorn TV just for this one series. Suspenseful, addictive, great actors. Only thing I didn't like in Season 5 was the profanity, that was uncalled for in my opinion, when the story line and the actors are so good WHY use the "F" word!!! Don't spoil it by changing to this like every other American TV series is doing. Otherwise, I will continue to watch this series and hope it goes on for 20 years!! I wish we didn't have to wait so long between seasons. My mother and I binge watch when we know it is coming back so we go straight into new season. Still don't know if or when Acorn TV will carry Season 6, but hope they follow through this time too. PBS in our area doesn't keep current on the series unfortunately.

I'm enjoying Season 5 now on BBC1 on weekday afternoons.

What I can't understand is WHY O WHY the BBC doesn't show the whole series on Sunday nights for family viewing. It would be as popular as 'Call the Midwife' and give them a big slice if the viewing audience.

In the meantime ITV zoom ahead with two hours of family drama on Sundays with 'The Durrall's' and 'The Good Karma Hospital'. Both brilliant, by the way!

I could easily watch APTCH again from episode 1 even though I now know the storylines as it is such a joy to watch.

I so agree, it's got all the twists and turns that we used to get with Dynasty, Dallas, Knots Landing, A woman of substance, all families with their ups and downs, all set in different eras but we couldn't wait for the next episode.
