ABC’s Scandal Won’t Get Renewed for Season 8

Whenever Olivia Pope enters a room, things are going to change. Unfortunately for all the fans of hers, this change will also mean that after season 7 there will be no more Olivia Pope, because Scandal is not going to be renewed for Season 8. This might come as a surprise for many, but given the way the storylines went, it was bound to happen soon. The ratings are not the culprit here, because Scandal still boasts a very impressive 7.8 out of 10 stars on IMDb, a whopping 8.3 out of 10 stars on TV.com and even Rotten Tomatoes gives it a strong 94%. The viewing figures have been very consistent up until this last season, usually raking in well over 9 Million viewers per episode for the previous installments, but the last season 7 debut only attracted 5.52 Million viewers. However, these numbers are still subject to change as the show will gain more viewers on several different online platforms. We will definitely be sad to see Olivia, Quinn and Huck go.

Basic info and storyline
Without a doubt, one of the most powerful shows on TV! Scandal is an American political thriller television series based on the real-life presidential PR expert Judy Smith. Starring Kerry Washington and created by the incredible Shonda Rhimes, the series originally debuted in April 2012 on the network ABC and so far has been renewed for overall 7 seasons, with the current installment kicking off on October 5th, 2017 with brand new episodes. It was also announced in May 2017 that this latest chapter will also be the last and that Scandal will end with season 7.
Nobody does it better than Olivia Pope! Played by Kerry Washington, this feisty lady runs her own crisis management firm staffed with a group of quite dysfunctional people. On a daily basis, Olivia and her employees deal with protecting the public images of the nation’s elite and trying to avoid political scandals related to those who run the US government. The firm’s top employees are a litigator, an investigator, a computer hacker and a lawyer, amongst others. On a daily basis they work with the staff of the White House and try to not let their personal lives be affected by the dirt that can come up when dealing with politics.

The characters, the performances, the writing!! What an incredibly festive, evil mind (s) come up with this amazing program.!
Love it! LOVE it!! Been binging watching since last week. I'm nearing the end of season 5, and purposely slowing down, so as not to be left with nothing until next year.
I couldn't imagine having to be left dangling week to week to find out what happens next!! But for season 6, I guess I'll have to.!!!
So looking forward to next season, whenever that may be. ! !

It would be great to explore the psychology behind her. I want her with Jake. I hate the mistress element of any woman. Why be a mistress when you can have a man albeit and murderer that loves you completely your father loves him and you could live happily ever after?......Not it's scandal right..... :lol: :-)
but if you're so eager to play that card then she's also a sick chick when it comes to Jake as he was dating Vanessa his wife to be! not to mention the incestuous vibe surrounding theme and last but not least the fact that he physically assaulted her and threatened her multiple times ! but I guess he was not married at that time so that's perfectly fine right ?, --'
I want to see Olivia at her lowest, I want to see her beg Fitz to take her back, he suffered too much for her,. Olivia doesn't care about no one but herself.
But hey, for all the murdering that takes place on this show, why doesn't anyone just shoot Rowan? Seriously.
I love this show. I've Been binging on the five series on Netflix this summer.
It used to be that a series would run from the very beginning of Fall to late Spring (as in just before June 1st), with a very few limited interruptions for holidays. However, the networks have now permitted, what seems to be many, lengthy breaks between episodes. —Viewers Don't Like This—
Many I know would prefer to stay busy while waiting it out to watch the full, uninterrupted, commercial-free episodes on NetFlix.
You can pamper the actors in as many ways as you like, however, without the viewers, the actors are meaningless ordinary nobodies.
Hollywood & its production companies need to rethink their standard operating procedures.
Season six should be last season with the happy ending for Liv and Fitz which 90per cent of fans want otherwise it will leave a nasty taste!!!
