About the series
Live Free or Die is an American reality series that follows the lives of five people who live in the country’s most remote backwoods and swamps, freed from the constraints of technology and relying completely on nature to give them everything they need to survive. Produced by and aired on National Geographic Television, season 3 of the series premiered on July 25, 2016.
Colbert lives in Georgia swamps, Gabriel’s home is on Californian coast and in the mountains, Thorn inhabits Blue Ridge Mountains, and Toni and Amelia are from Blue Ridge Mountains. All of them hunt, trap and forage for food, plants and building supplies in order to survive in the wilderness. They are the true pioneers of the 21st century, who have, at one time, belonged to the society and held respectable jobs. Now they belong to themselves and only nature can dictate what time they wake up or what they have for dinner. They live completely off the land, with no running water or electricity, no Internet or television. For most of us their lifestyle seems unreal, but for them, it is something that makes them completely free.
Ratings and prospects of renewal
National Geographic has not put out any news on the release of season 4, but the series is quite popular among the viewers with an average IMDb rating of 7.7 out of 10. It seems that with a prospect of no bills or social obligations, more people may want to join the audience. The third season debuted to 0.776 million viewers with a 0.19 demo rating. Bring them all back please
watched all the other series.
It is amazing that NG has devoted so much time, energy, and
money into a project like this - that requires incredibly experienced
and talented photographers, directors, and editors to document the "magic"
in the lives and people who have chosen a lifestyle that most
people cannot imagine. For me, it is one of the most engaging
shows I watch-I hope it continues.
I hope season 4 will be on soon...looking forward to it.
And I kinda felt as uncomfortable as lady at co-op being put on the spot with pigs already there in the truck when they were asking to leave them.
Love all the people on the show. EXCELLENT off the grid show!
I'm quite anxious to see the next season.
