The overall approval ratings of Red Oaks are high and currently boast a solid 7.9 out of 10 stars on IMDb, 79% on Rotten Tomatoes (but with 85% of viewers liking the show) and 70% on Metacritic (with a viewer rating of 7.2 out of 10). To me personally, this is not surprising, because having grown up during the 80s was just awesome! So any series showing off that era is great in my book. It was announced in January 2017 that Red Oaks will end after the third and final season, because according to the producers the characters have grown up. This is a shame, but maybe someone will some day come up with a storyline that fits all those characters in the 1990s maybe? Who knows. Nothing is forever these days, so the final third season for Red Oaks could very well just be a break. We will certainly keep you posted if anything changes and Amazon decides to revive Red Oaks for Season 4.
Basic info and cast
Red Oaks is an American comedy TV series that tells the story of a young tennis player who works at an exclusive country club during the summer between his sophomore and junior years of college. Written and created by Joe Gangemi and Gregory Jacobs, the show is executive produced by the Academy Award winning director Steven Soderberg and David Gordon Green. The series was initially released on the Amazon streaming platform in October 2015 and has since been renewed for overall three seasons, with the latest installment premiering on October 20th, 2017 with brand new episodes. However, it was also announced that season 3 will be the last and final season for Red Oaks.
A classic coming of age story, the show is set in an upscale suburban country club in New Jersey during the 1980s. Joining the growing slate of Amazon’s original programs, the series centers on David Myers (Craig Roberts), a college student who is at a crossroads in his young adult life. Conflicted about his major, confused about his relationship with his high school sweetheart and unsure of how to process his parents’ recent confession about the lack of love in their marriage, David tries to find himself while holding down a summer job. Instead, he discovers himself as the recipient of unsolicited life advice from a colorful group of coworkers and wealthy club members.

Tar of the show. I don't think I would have continued to watch if I had t caught a scene with him I. It, and then I was hooked. He is a fabulous actor, and I am a true fan of the the show but mostly the Getty character. Come on, season 3.
