Storyline and cast
It Takes A Sister is an American reality television series that follows the life of Nikki Alexander, aka Hoopz – year 2006 winner of Flavor of Love – her four sisters, eight nieces and nephews and an assistant all living under the same roof. The series premiered on Oxygen on August 4, 2015.
Nikki has just broken up with her fiancé – world famous basketball player Shaquille O’Neal– and moved back to her hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee. With fourteen people under the same roof, things get loud and heavy very quickly, but one thing that Nikki doesn’t have a shortage of is shoulders to cry on. Nikki’s four sisters are all single mothers, so they are the best to understand what she’s going through after a very harsh breakup with Shaq. That’s not to say that the show is not packed with drama – just imagine the level of estrogen under one roof?! Additionally, Nikki’s personal assistant, Dre, is the only man in the house and is the father of one of her sister’s children... You just have to watch the show to understand how all of that works out.
