UPDATED October 22, 2017: Just a few days after the most recent fourth chapter of the sports dramedy series finished airing its 10 episodes, the Starz network announced that Survivor’s Remorse has been cancelled after 4 seasons and will not be renewed for Season 5. The disappointing news came despite the fact that the show has garnered positive feedback from viewers and delivered solid viewership numbers.

One thing that immediately stands out is the overwhelmingly positive and high overall approval by viewers and fans, because Survivor’s Remorse currently boasts solid 7 out of 10 stars on IMDb, scores a perfect 5/5 on Common Sense Media (which almost never happens!) and 96% on Rotten Tomatoes. As most subscribers know, these ratings are great to get an overall feel for the general popularity of a show, but the deciding factor for the future of any television show will always be the viewing figures, which usually follow the general pattern of gradually losing viewers over the course of several seasons. However, in the case of Survivor’s Remorse these numbers keep rising instead of declining and the latest fourth installment premiered to an audience of 0.97 Million viewers, compared to the seemingly low 0.2 Million for the very first episode back in 2014. This is an enormous increase of overall 480% in viewership over the course of four seasons. At this point it’s safe to say that we will almost certainly see at least one more season of this super successful series.
About the series
Survivor’s Remorse is an American comedy television show that centers around the lives of fictional professional basketball player Cam Calloway and his family. The series first debuted on October 4th, 2014 on the American network Starz and has since been renewed for overall four seasons, with the latest installment kicking off on August 20th, 2017 with 10 brand new episodes. Created by Mike O’Malley and executive produced by LeBron James, the comedy hails from the production companies SpringHill Entertainment, Werner Entertainment and O'Malley Ink.
Survivor’s Remorse follows the life of Cam Calloway (played by Jessie T. Usher), a hotshot young basketball star who is thrust into the limelight after signing a huge contract with a professional basketball team in Atlanta. The show tackles topical issues faced by Cam and his cousin Reggie Vaughn (played by RonReaco Lee) in a humorous way as they struggle to reconcile their newly found fame and fortune. Coming from the toughest neighborhoods of Boston, the characters wrestle with the rewards of money, stardom, love and occasionally the self-induced guilt of their meteoric rise to the top.

WTF?
Looking forward to the return of S3
or Deon Cole from Blackish. They could definitely carry the comedic element. They can play off each other like a modern day Fred Sanford & Ester or George Jefferson & Florence. I miss this little show. I'm responsible for at least 10 viewers I've turned on to it. P.S. If hiring, I have some creative ideas for story lines to take this show to the next level & have staying power.
