Peacock’s new dark comedy Laid stars the ensemble cast of Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All At Once, Joy Ride), Zosia Mamet (The Flight Attendant, Madame Web), Tommy Martinez (Good Trouble, Riverdale) and Michael Angarano (Sky High, Wild Card).
Hsu portrays Ruby, a somewhat selfish woman in her 30s who works as an event coordinator, and Zosia Mamet portrays her best friend AJ, who has an intense fascination with true crime. AJ is the one to point out the trend of Ruby’s former partners dying, which makes the premise of the show. Isaac (Tommy Martinez) starts out as one of Ruby’s clients, but he soon gets dragged into the chaos of Ruby’s wake. Michael Angarano’s Richie returns to Ruby’s life as a staple in helping her figure out her past.
