Peacock has recently announced the limited series order for the psychological suspense thriller "THE GOOD DAUGHTER," featuring and executive produced by Emmy Award-nominated actress Jessica Biel (known for her roles in "Candy" and "The Sinner").
The series, based on Karin Slaughter's New York Times bestselling novel "The Good Daughter," will have all episodes written by Slaughter herself, who will also serve as an executive producer. Joining the production team are Emmy award-winning producer Bruna Papandrea, along with Steve Hutensky and Casey Haver from Made Up Stories (known for producing "Pieces of Her," "Big Little Lies," and "Wolf Like Me"). Biel and Michelle Purple will also executive produce for Iron Ocean (known for "The Sinner" and "Cruel Summer").
This collaboration between FIFTH SEASON, Made Up Stories, and Iron Ocean promises to deliver an enthralling suspenseful crime drama. The story follows sisters Charlotte (portrayed by Jessica Biel) and Samantha Quinn, who have spent nearly three decades piecing together their fractured lives after a night of violence shattered their family. When another attack rocks the small town of Pikeville, Charlotte, now a lawyer like her father, becomes the first witness on the scene. As the case unfolds with shocking revelations, she is forced to confront her own demons, leading both sisters to question whether the sacrifices made as "the good daughter" were truly worth it in the end.
Notably, Papandrea's Made Up Stories had previously produced the successful limited series "Pieces of Her," also based on a New York Times bestselling novel by Karin Slaughter.
