Ronja the Robber's Daughter chronicles the escapades of a spirited and defiant girl born into a band of robbers within the confines of a medieval Scandinavian castle. As Ronja matures, she stumbles upon the magical yet perilous forest, teeming with peculiar and enigmatic creatures. Despite the dangers, she finds solace in the forest rather than within the castle walls. The narrative takes a dramatic turn when Ronja encounters Birk, a young boy from a rival gang, sparking a forbidden friendship and triggering a dark family feud. Simultaneously, a notorious bailiff arrives with the intent to eradicate the forest's robber inhabitants once and for all.
Crafted as an expansive yet faithful reimagining of the classic tale, penned by Hans Rosenfeldt, the creator of "The Bridge" and "Marcella," and produced by Filmlance, the series reintroduces audiences to one of Sweden's most cherished stories.
Released in two parts, the show features a cast including Kerstin Linden, Christopher Wagelin, Sverrir Gudnason, Pernilla August, Johan Ulveson, and others.
