Don Cheadle is set to join the cast of "Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist," a limited series on Peacock that chronicles the infamous armed robbery following Muhammad Ali's landmark 1970 comeback fight.
Cheadle will portray JD Hudson, one of Atlanta's pioneering Black detectives assigned to Ali's security detail and involved in the investigation of the robbery.
He joins a star-studded cast that includes Kevin Hart, Taraji P. Henson, Samuel L. Jackson, and Terrence Howard. The series, created by Shaye Ogbonna, unfolds in Atlanta, exploring the intersection of a historic heavyweight fight and an underground heist that put the city, known as "the Black Mecca," on the map. At the core of the narrative are a cop and a hustler entangled in the events.
Ogbonna, who also wrote the series, serves as the showrunner alongside Jason Horwitch. Produced by Universal Television, the show is adapted from the podcast Fight Night.
