Enter the tense world of Elisa, a mother of two young kids, whose life takes an unexpected turn in this gripping thriller. What seems like an ordinary decision to let her 9-year-old daughter, Lucia, go on an overnight playdate with her new best friend, Josie, quickly escalates into every parent's worst nightmare. Elisa is initially put at ease by Josie's charming mother, Rebecca, and their impressive house, but as she says goodnight to Lucia, she has no idea that she is about to be plunged into a harrowing abduction.
As Elisa goes to pick up Lucia the next day, she discovers that the beautiful house was a holiday rental and both Lucia and the seemingly perfect Josie and Rebecca have vanished. What started as a harmless sleepover has turned into a frantic manhunt across Europe. Elisa and her husband Fred become the subject of police and public scrutiny, leading to the unraveling of their seemingly perfect family and the emergence of long-buried secrets. As viewers dive deeper into the tangled lives of these women, questions arise: Was Rebecca justified in kidnapping Lucia? And perhaps more importantly, should Lucia remain hidden?
