Showtime has released the first teaser for its new limited series Fellow Travelers, created by Ron Nyswaner and starring Matt Bomer, Jonathan Bailey, Jelani Alladin, Allison Williams, and Noah J. Ricketts. The eight-episode drama, executive produced by Bomer and Nyswaner, follows the clandestine romance of two men in McCarthy-era Washington.
Based on the novel by Thomas Mallon, Fellow Travelers is an epic love story and political thriller set against the backdrop of the McCarthy era. Charismatic Hawkins Fuller (Bomer) meets young idealist Tim Laughlin (Bailey), and their romance unfolds amidst the dark period of anti-communist hysteria. The series spans four decades, exploring the lives of Hawkins, Tim, and three other main characters as they navigate various historical events and personal struggles.
Co-produced by Fremantle and Showtime, Fellow Travelers will premiere on Paramount+ with Showtime later this fall. The series is executive produced by Robbie Rogers and Dee Johnson, with Daniel Minahan directing the first two episodes.
