What Happens at The Abbey Will Not Get Season 2

The first season of the new reality documentary series What Happens at The Abbey premiered on the Network E! with five episodes on May 14th, 2017. The series is produced by Banijay Studios North America and executive produced by David Goldberg, Caroline Baumgard, Ray Giuliani and David Cooley.

Just to immediately eliminate any misconception – The Abbey is a nightclub in Los Angeles’ West Hollywood neighborhood – not a church institution. And according to the overall consensus, the Abbey is the “Best Gay Bar in the World”. It’s a place where no one is judged and everyone can mingle, even with celebrities. Acceptance as wells as inclusion is the motto of the team behind the bar, as What Happens At The Abbey follows Owner David Cooley and his staff in their nightly jobs as well as during their time off. Obviously, there is a lot of relationship drama involved and as every reality TV series out there – we get to see it all!

It is actually hard to predict the future of this new reality series, as there are so many shows out there covering similar party boozing situations. The average rating of just 5.3 out of 10 stars on IMDb doesn’t indicate a huge popularity and neither does the 2 out of 5 stars on Common Sense Media. So far, the show literally fails to create some waves and it is down to the network, if they want to ax this show after just one season or if they want to renew What Happens at The Abbey for season 2.
