The first season of the reality TV series Second Wives Club premiered on the Network E! with eight hour-long episodes on May 4th, 2017. The series is produced by Studio Lambert and Bright Road Productions executive produced by Greg Goldman, Sara Quick and Rick Sasson. The first season stars Shiva Safai, Veronika Obeng, Morisa Surrey, Shawna Craig, Katie Carzorla and Tania Mehra as the new wives of wealthy and powerful men after they have been married at least once before.
The show Second Wives Club doesn’t only apply to those second wives, but also to those third, fourth or even fifth wives of these prominent and successful men they end up marrying. Obviously, the incredibly rich lifestyle comes with its perks and while these ladies might indulge in their lavish gifts, mermaid themed pool parties and insanely luxurious homes – being someone’s “next” wife also has its downsides, because the women featured in this club will also have to deal with ex-wives (sometimes a lot of them), their new step-children (who could very well be their own age) and still having their own careers.
Not exactly being a great fan of these kinds of reality TV series, I still sometimes wonder what it’s truly like for these women to be married to one of these incredibly wealthy men and being dubbed a trophy wife or gold digger, if they are not. The Second Wives Club might just give us some answers. As for its overall ratings, the middle-of-the-road 5.5 out of 10 stars and the 2 out of 5 on Common Sense Media don’t really indicate much of anything in terms of the future for the show. As of today, E! has yet to make any official announcements regarding the series. Stay tuned and we will update you with any news regarding Second Wives Club and a possible season 2.
