First Latin American production for Netflix
The first season of the animation horror and adventure comedy series Legend Quest premiered on the streaming giant Netflix on February 24th, 2017 with thirteen episodes. Developed by James Krieg and Jose C. Garcia de Letona, who both also executive produce the series together with Diego Avalos, Fernando de Fuentes and Andy Yeatman, the children’s series is produced by Anima Estudios in Mexico, which makes it the first Netflix Animation Original produced in Latin America.
In Legend Quest, Teenager Leo and his friends Teodora, Alebrije and Don Andres are cast astray, when their little town is being attacked by an evil force. Leo has a special gift, as he can talk to ghosts, so the little group rallies every help they can get to get rid of the otherworldly overlord, who plans to destroy all of mankind. Johnny Rose lends his voice to teen Leo, Annemarie Blanco to Teodora, who is a girl ghost, Oscar Cheda stars as Don Andres, who is another ghost friend of Leo, and Paul Tei stars as Alebrije, who is another strange and very colorful creature.
