Everest Rescue is a new reality series that debuted on Discovery Channel on January 8, 2017. The show is produced by Betty production company, which is UK-based, and the freshman season contains six parts.
The series takes the viewers to the top of the world, the Himalayan Mountains, where emergency calls from climbers are a staple. It highlights the work of a very exclusive group of helicopter pilots who provide the desperately needed assistance to people – sometimes it's stranded climbers, sometimes local men and women. The 2016 climbing season emergencies are featured in the gripping freshman season. These rescue missions are among the most dangerous in the world, considering the altitude, the limited amount of time, the weather and other issues.
