Dragon Ball Super is a Japanese anime series that's been on the air in japan and is now broadcast in the United States on Adult Swim, having debuted on January 7, 2017. The show is written by Akira Toriyama and produced by Osamu Nozaki, Naoko Sagawa, Atsushi, Tomosuke Teramoto and Satoru Takami at Toei Animation. There are 78 episodes in the first season.
The narrative starts off a few months after the defeat of Majin Boo and the return of peace to Earth. Son Goku is happy farming radish with his family when a new threat emerges in the shape of Beerus, the scariest creature in the universe and the God of Destruction. Goku transforms into Super Saiyan God in order to save the planet from surefire destruction. Other threats emerge over the course of the season, and the warrior has to use his powers and make sure the world survives.
Viewership and future projections
Dragon Ball Super is mostly positively received, and praised for the animation quality. The US premiere drew just over 1 million viewers, scoring a 0.4 demo rating, and the second week saw no decline in viewership, only dropping 0.04 in the demo. The series has a solid 8.2/10 IMDb score, and has also aired in Israel, Portugal, France, Italy, Spain and English-speaking Africa.
