Series' info and main idea
A new Canadian documentary series, Airport: Below Zero premiered on History CA on October 5, 2016. It is produced and directed by Marshall Jay Kaplan and hails from Our House Media. The first season is comprised of ten sixty-minute episodes.
The first season focuses on the everyday operations of Edmonton International Airport – the most northerly Canadian airport and the country's “Gateway to the North”. The “everyday operations” part sounds mundane, yet it is a truly complex process that involves balancing out the challenges presented by the geographical position alone on top of the usual work required to keep a busy airport running. Medical emergencies, heavy blizzards, planes diverted to nearby airports, lost passengers and other troubles require the attention of the staff 24/7.
