Series info and idea
The new British game show, The Getaway Car, which debuted on BBC One on January 16, 2016, is presented by Dermot O'Leary and executive produced by Andy Rowe. It's commissioned to contain 12 hour-long episodes.
The series is set in Cape Town, South Africa – who knows why, because it really has no bearing on the course of the show. The aim is to win a cash prize of £10,000 through winning four rounds of various driving challenges. Five teams participate in the contest, with the losers eliminated in each round. Each team consists of two people – it can be a married couple, friends, or co-workers. The interpersonal dynamics as far as emotional outbursts and teamwork are also at the center of the series' narrative.
