Knuckles is the latest in the “Cinematic World of Sonic the Hedgehog,” from Paramount Pictures and SEGA of America.
Elba takes on the lead role, and Adam Pally returns as Wade Whipple from the film franchise. The ensemble cast features guest appearances by Stockard Channing (The West Wing), Edi Patterson (The Righteous Gemstones), Scott Mescudi (Don’t Look Up), Ellie Taylor (Ted Lasso), Julian Barratt (Mindhorn), Rory McCann (Game of Thrones), Cary Elwes (MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – DEAD RECKONING), Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), Paul Scheer (Black Monday), and Rob Huebel (Childrens Hospital). Ben Schwartz and Tika Sumpter make special guest star appearances, reprising their roles as Sonic and Maddie, respectively. Colleen O’Shaughnessey returns as a special guest star in her role as Tails.
The core creative team from the previous films, including director/executive producer Jeff Fowler, have come back for the series. Fowler directed the pilot episode and played a crucial role in adapting the film's distinctive cinematic animation style for television. Executive producers Neal H. Moritz, Toby Ascher, John Whittington, and Toru Nakahara are joined by Idris Elba. The series boasts additional directors Ged Wright, Brandon Trost, Jorma Taccone, and Carol Banker.
John Whittington and Toby Ascher, creators of the television adaptation, are at the helm during production, with Whittington serving as head writer and having written the series pilot. Brian Schacter and James Madejski join the writing team for the series.
